We just started the animal band craze at our house. I think the Christmas banz on this site are a little high so I will be looking around and shipping cost almost as much as a package but I don’t know how hard they are to find with this being new to us. What I DO KNOW is they are educational. First my 3 year olds have learned about colors and shapes because they are overly interested in them because of their older brother. My 5 year old is learning about giving and trading among his friends. A direct quote from him “Mom these animal bracelets all cost the same but you have to trade 3 shapes to get one dinosaur.” This is the key to bartering and trading. This is a lesson in understanding marketing and value at the age of 5. So yes these things have a huge amount of EDUCATIONAL potential.

My kids love the bandz. I get them from a local retailer here in town that charges $5 a pack for them. It beats payin for the shipping, but i am looking for a place that will make them in different shapes. I love the fact that these things do teach children the art of trading and how to actually “look over” something before you trade for it. My son traded a dino. for a broken sun. Now he will look over EVERY bandz before he even begins to talk about trading! To me….its a valuable life lesson.

I was concerned about being charged and never receiving my order of silly bandz as the previous reviewer . I was surprised to find a package from Brainchild containing my order. The silly bandz breaks easily and has no educational value. Otherwise it is the latest trend for the little ones.

Brainchild charged me immediately upon my order. 6 weeks later I still have nothing to show, and Brainchild has been completely unresponsive to any contact.

This set was a special request from my 8 year old granddaughter for one of her Christmas gifts. It took me forever to figure out just what she was talking about. Even when I saw the picture of the product here on Amazon I still had trouble understanding why she would want these. It turned out they were all the rage at school.

When she opened the package on Christmas day her eyes lit up like stars. There were 6 different shapes in this package, 24 in total, all very recognizable animals. She thoroughly enjoyed using them as jewelry (bracelets for arms and legs) and in the way you would usually use string to make various shapes of string art. They also function completely well as an actual rubber band.

There really isn’t much to this product and yet it seems to be a very resilient product which gives hours of fun. The bands spring back into their original shape after being stretched out and indeed, one band was left on a doll’s wrist for a month and resumed it’s shape when I found it and removed it. I now have a purple puppy of my very own. Or until my grandgirl comes over and finds it!
